You will find up to 6 photographs provided below and under them directions to find the Peg.
The images are as the Swim appeared on day that the photograph was taken
To get to this Peg; first park at the end of Manor Road.
At the end of Manor Road there is a padlocked, metal farm gate with pedestrian access onwards through two angled posts (inverted Y shaped) seen to the right of that gate.
Proceed through that pedestrian entrance along the road track and straight on. [Turning first right would take you down to Pegs 28 through to 68]. Continue along the single track until you come to the Bridge Arch that goes through the railway embankment. [Distance of 450 metres]. Pass through that Arch and turn right on to the single track running parallel with the embankment. At the end of this track is the river, where Peg 79 is located; just downstream of Brunel's Railway Bridge.
Peg 71 is to the right. Walk under Brunel's Bridge following the Thames Pathway adjacent to the river. Pass through the Wythemead Kissing Gate and follow the path upstream. There is a bench to the left, walk passed it up to the next bench at the end of the meadow. This bench marks the postion of Pegs 69 and 71. (Peg 70 is no longer available). Peg 71 is the second available swim in from the Large Meadow Gate: which is included in the photographs. A square metal, white peg marker on the bank shows the exact position of the Swim.
The alternative route to the Wythemead Pegs is to walk across the Large Meadow (where Pegs 39-68 are located) down to the Kissing Gate (shown in photographs) which is between it and the Nature Reserve and go through it.
[Note the Peg Marker may be covered by vegetation.]
