During this working party, and where deemed appropriate, overhanging bush and tree branches were removed from the Pegs located in the Meadows and the Withemead Nature Reserve (Little Meadow) that is the members only section of the Goring Fishing Club Venue. Work was carried out with the professional assistance of Luke and Lee from Riverside Tree Service. Thanks go to them for their sterling efforts and to the following members that gave of their time: Martin Fossey, Jeff Fisher, Ronnie Fuller, Mike Hickmott, Ivan Montague, Scott Parsons, Robert Smith and Tony Walters, for a job well done!
The pictures below illustrate the work that was undertaken and how the Withemead Pegs now look. Considering that all the members present were in their 60's, 70's and one was in his 80's alot was achieved on the day.
Peg 71 is no longer available, it can not be cleared of the thick undergrowth, bushes and trees now existing there.
Peg 69 is not accessable either; it requiring at least a full days work to clear it of the undergrowth, trees and bushes within its surrounding area. Unless younger members come forward to help with its clearance; Peg 69 will remain in its current state.
